Abner Karver, Jr. âbeloved father and grandfatherâ
SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Abner Karver, Jr., 68, of Shinglehouse, PA, formerly of Genesee, PA and Green Lane, PA, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 in UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA, after a short illness.
Born October 25, 1945 in Quakertown, he was a son of Abner and Ethel L. Karver, Sr. He was formerly married to Maryann Dries, who survives.
Mr. Karver graduated from Pennsburg High School in Pennsburg, PA. He was a member of the Future Farmers of America while in school.
Abner was a life long dairy farmer. At the time of his death he was employed at Kenyon Jersey Hill Farm in Coudersport.
He was a member of the Red Hill Lutheran Church in Red Hill, PA and attended the First Baptist Church in Shinglehouse.
Abnerâs whole life was farming and cows.
Surviving are a son, John M. (Melinda) Karver of Shinglehouse; a daughter, Stephanie A. (Chris) Williams of Clara; and three grandchildren, Alex David Earl Karver, Dana Marie Williams, and Jonathan Abner Karver.
In addition to his parents, Abner was predeceased by a granddaughter, Hope M. Karver.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the First Baptist Church, Shinglehouse, with the Rev. Russell J. Horning, pastor, officiating.
