Alice E. Burnham “beloved wife, mother and grandmother”

HEBRON CENTER, Pa.---Alice E. Burnham, 82, of Hebron Center, went to be with the Lord, on Friday, October 9, 2020, with her loving family by her side in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, after a long illness.

Born on Wednesday, October 5, 1938 in Randolph, N.Y., she was a daughter of the Rev. Daniel and Ethel Simpson Waite. On July 13, 1967 in Eddyville, N.Y., she married the Rev. Howard R. Burnham, who survives.

Alice was a graduate of Northern Potter High School in Ulysses, Class of 1956. She graduated from Bethany Fellowship Missionary Institute in Bloomington, Minnesota. Alice attended the former St. Francis School of Nursing in Olean, N.Y., where she graduated and received her Licensed Practical Nurse degree. She was employed at the County Home in Machias, N.Y. For many years, Alice worked at the Hebron Center Christian School as the school secretary performing many tasks. She also served as the secretary of the Hebron Union Church. Alice served on the Hebron Township Board of Election in many capacities, including as Judge of Election.

Alice was a member of the Hebron Union Church in Hebron Center, where her husband was pastor for 40 years. Alice was by his side throughout their pastoral career. She was also a former member of the Andrews Settlement Union Church and a former member of the Eddyville Community Church in Eddyville, N.Y. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and cooking. Her greatest love was serving her Lord and the time spent with her precious family.

Surviving are her husband of 53 years; three daughters, Karin E. (Bradley) Karr of Coudersport, Konnie R. Minard of Olean, N.Y., and Karla A. (Timothy) Karr of Coudersport; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by a brother, Allen A. Waite.

Friends are invited to call from 9 am to noon on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at the Hebron Union Church, 1149 SR 44 North, Coudersport, where funeral services will follow at noon with Pastor Hank St. Amour and Mr. Rob Leete, officiating. Burial will be in Rathbone Cemetery, Coneville.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials in Alice’s name may be made to Hebron Union Church, 1149 SR 44 North, Coudersport, PA 16915 or to the Coudersport Volunteer Ambulance Association, PO Box 651, Coudersport, PA 16915.

Alice’s family has entrusted her care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
