Annette L. Knight                  â€œbeloved wife, mother, grandmother & daughter”

BATH, NY----Annette L. Knight, 48, of Bath, NY, formerly of Austin, PA, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY.
     Born November 8, 1965 in Wellsboro, PA, she was a daughter of James D. and Beverly Williams Whitney.  In Coudersport she married Gregory A. Knight, who survives.
     Annette was a graduate of Austin High School, class of 1985.
     She was a member and volunteer firefighter at the Savona (NY) Volunteer Fire Department, and a former member of the West Clarksville (NY) Volunteer Fire Department, the Austin (PA) Volunteer Fire Department, and the Roulette (PA) Volunteer Fire Department.  She was a former member of the former Order of the Eastern Star Chapter in Austin, PA.
Annette was a wonderful cook and a very sociable person.  Her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren.
     Surviving in addition to her husband, are her father of Conrad; her maternal grandmother, Louise Williams of Coudersport; four children, David L. (Kristine) Welch of Shinglehouse, Jeremy S. Welch, Shelby A. Knight, and Aaron J. Knight, all of Bath; four grandchildren, Gracelynn Welch, Dawson Welch, Leelynn Welch, and Joseph Welch; a brother, Donald L. (Kim) Whitney of Roulette; a nephew; an aunt; and many cousins.
     In addition to her mother, Annette was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Harold Williams; and her paternal grandparents, Lewis and Mary Whitney.
     Friends may call at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, PA on Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at which time funeral services will follow with the Rev. H.D. Youngblood, Jr., of Roulette, officiating.  Burial will be in McFall Cemetery, Conrad, PA.
     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a volunteer fire department of the donor’s choice.
