Barbara E. Bobenrieth “beloved wife, mother, and grandmother”
PORT ALLEGANY, Pa.---Barbara E. “Barb” Bobenrieth, 77, a lifelong resident of Port Allegany, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022, in the Bradford Manor, Bradford, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on Saturday, November 18, 1944 in Olean, N.Y., she was a daughter of Erwin L. and Martha V. Taylor Austin. She married Wayne M. Bobenrieth, who survives.
Barb attended a country school in Turtlepoint where she was a majorette and graduated from Kane High School.
For a brief time, Barb was employed as a waitress. Her biggest and most important job was being a wife and mother.
Barb was a devoted member of the First Church of God in Eldred. She loved to hunt and fish. She was a sharpshooter who out shot her husband. She loved her garden flowers, knitting, and taking family photos.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband; seven children, Virginia (Doug) Butler of Bradford, Doug (Nancy) Bobenrieth of New Hampshire, Terry Bobenrieth of Rixford, Todd (Jen) Bobenrieth of Port Allegany, Tim (Amy) Bobenrieth of Turtlepoint, Matt (Kathy) Bobenrieth of Bradford, and Dean (Toni) Bobenrieth of New Hampshire; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Barb was predeceased by her brothers.
Family and friends may call from 11am to noon on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at the First Church of God, 142 Main Street, Eldred, where a celebration of Barb’s life will follow at noon, with Pastor Jim Kazimer, officiating. Burial will be in Bell Run Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Church of God, PO Box 254, Eldred, PA 16731 or to Port Area Ambulance Service, 22279 Rt. 6, Port Allegany, PA 16743.
Barb’s husband entrusted her care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
