Calvin B. Furman âbeloved father and grandfatherâ
NORTH BINGHAM, PA----Calvin B. Furman, 91, of North Bingham, a former longtime resident of Coudersport and Coneville, passed away with his loving family by his side on Thursday, January 7, 2016, at Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, after a lengthy illness.
Born on August 13, 1924 in Ulysses, he was a son of Arlow D. and Helen Mae Broten Furman. He was married to Alverta B. Beiling who passed away on May 5, 1993.
He attended country school in Ulysses.
Mr. Furman was employed as an equipment operator for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for many years.
He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and trapping. He was a skilled mechanic, dozer operator, and loved to tinker on anything mechanical.
Surviving are three sons, David B. Furman of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Franklin D. (Katie) Furman of Coudersport, and David D. (Cathy) Furman of North Bingham; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Wilbur R. Furman of Port Allegany; a sister, Bertha (John) Howard of Limestone, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Furman was predeceased by three sons, Calvin B. Furman, Jr., Dorwin A. Furman, and Charles B. âCharlieâ Furman.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Hebron Union Church, Coudersport, PA. Burial will be in West Pike Cemetery.
