Carl E. “Abe” Bryant               “loving husband, father and grandfather”

SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Carl E. “Abe” Bryant, 63, of Shinglehouse, passed away quietly on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at the Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY with his loving family at his side after suffering an apparent heart attack.
     Born February 12, 1952 in Olean, NY, he was a son of William J. and Mildred “Millie” Miller Bryant.  On June 15, 1974 in Shinglehouse, he married Deborah L. Carlson, who survives.
     Abe was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School in Shinglehouse.  He was employed for 41 years at Pure Carbon in Coudersport, retiring on March 3, 2015.
     He was an active member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 530 in Shinglehouse.  He enjoyed gardening and driving his 1973 Mercury Comet GT.  His greatest love was his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
     Surviving besides his loving wife are two sons, Brent E. (Laura) Bryant of Genesee and Trent R.W. (Danielle) Bryant of Shinglehouse; seven grandchildren, Taige, Alexandra, Carl, Owen, Colden, Bailey, and Emma; a sister, Rachel Ann “Cookie” (David) Amidon of Shinglehouse; a brother, Richard “Dick” (Cheryl) Bryant of Clara; and many nieces and nephews.
     At Abe’s request there will be no public visitation.  A celebration of his life will be held privately by his family.
     Abe’s family has entrusted his care to the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
