Carol E. Moyer âbeloved wife, mother and grandmotherâ
SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Carol E. Moyer, 74, of Bells Run Road, Shinglehouse, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015 in Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY, after a long illness.
Born August 21, 1940 in Shinglehouse, she was a daughter of Alfred and Mildred Plants Brooks. In 1964 she married Leo C. Moyer, who survives.
Carol was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School, Shinglehouse, class of 1958. She was a homemaker and also babysat for friends and family.
Carol and her husband enjoyed camping, having visited all of the lower 48 states.
Surviving besides her husband are four sons, Robert M. Moyer of Olean, Karl E. (Karen) Moyer of Garrison, Texas, Dale A. (Royann) Moyer of Shinglehouse, and Scott M. Moyer of Emporium; fifteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a sister, Joanne (Gordon) Adams of Genesee; a brother, Robert Brooks of Shinglehouse; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by a son, James Moyer; a daughter, Linda Gunsolus; and an infant sister, Nancy Brooks.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 .m. on Tuesday at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 with the Rev. Thomas Isaacson, pastor of Grace Bible Independent Baptist Church, Shinglehouse, officiating. Burial will be in Bell Run Cemetery.
