Cathy L. Blauvelt “beloved mother, grandmother, and sister”

MILLPORT, Pa.---Cathy l. Blauvelt, 58, of Millport, passed away with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, in Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, after a long illness

Born on Thursday, July 26, 1962, in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Lawrence D. and Sophia J. Denhoff Snyder.

Cathy was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School, Class of 1981, Shinglehouse. In her younger years she was a personal caregiver. She loved to play bingo and go shopping. Her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren and her baby puppy, Priscilla.

Left to cherish her memory are four children, Nicole L. Snyder and Scot D. (Angel) Blauvelt, both of Millport, Darren A. (Theodora) Blauvelt of Scio, N.Y., and Tiffany L. (Michael) Blauvelt of Millport; five grandchildren, Ellie, Richard, Amber, Bryan, and Bentley; two sisters, Linda M. (John) Hurd of Clara and Betsy M. (Gordon) Melser of Shinglehouse; and several nieces and nephews, including Terry (Maria) Amidon, with whom she was close.

Cathy was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Darwin G. Snyder, and an infant sister, Nalene Snyder.

Family and friends may call from 9am to 10:45am on Friday, August 14, 2020, at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse. Funeral services will be held privately. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Hebron.

Cathy’s family has entrusted her care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
