HAZEL HURST, PA---Charlotte Maine-Howard Bundy, 72, of Hazel Hurst, formerly of Austin, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013 in Kane Community Hospital, Kane, PA after a short illness.
Born January 12, 1941 in Olean, NY, she was a daughter of Milford L. and Erma B. Wheeler Howard.
Charlotte was a graduate of Port Allegany High School. She had been employed as a nurse’s aide at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport and had later been employed by Emporium Specialties in Austin.
She loved to play bingo and fish. Her greatest love was her family.
Surviving are eight children, Roberta B. Loveless of Port Allegany, Donald N. Kontz of Pennsylvania, Robert L. (Sharon) Kontz of Eldred, Eugene A. Kontz of Hazel Hurst, Patricia F. (Ronald) Falk of Port Allegany, Charles E. Kontz of Clarion, Anne M. Free of Hinsdale, NY, and Sandra L. (Mickey) Majot of Millport; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several brothers and sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was predeceased by a son, Christopher F. Kontz.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, PA where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. The Rev. Jerry L. Stauffer, pastor of Grace Chapel Fellowship, Farmers Valley, will officiate. Burial will be in Odin Cemetery.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, PO Box 97, Shinglehouse, PA 16748 to assist with expenses.
