Clarence Gougler “beloved father and grandfather”
SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa.---Clarence Gougler, 95, of Shinglehouse, formerly of Costello, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Sunday, January 24, 2021.
Born on Saturday, May 2, 1925 on Rattlesnake Hill, Stowe, Pa., he was a son of Clarence and Laura Neiman Gougler. He was married to Esther M. Favinger Gougler, who preceded him in death.
Clarence attended West Pottsgrove High School in West Pottsgrove. He was a US Navy veteran having served during World War II.
Clarence was employed by B.F. Goodrich Tire Company in Oaks, retiring in 1986.
He was a member of Shinglehouse American Legion Post 530, a member of Sharon Lodge #598 F. & A.M. in Shinglehouse, a member of the Coudersport Consistory, and a member of the Ismailia Shriners in Buffalo. He enjoyed hunting.
Surviving are two daughters, Patti L. Gougler of Shinglehouse and Cheryl L. Fontana of Stowe; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many dear friends.
Clarence was predeceased by his parents and wife.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions, private funeral services will be held in the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse with the Rev. Russell J. Horning, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Shinglehouse, officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
Members of the Potter County Honor Guard will accord military honors

Clarence had entrusted his care and funeral arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
