David M. Edwards âbeloved father and grandfather, friend to manyâ
WHITESVILLE, NY----David M. Edwards, 69, of Whitesville, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Thursday, January 7, 2016.
Born on September 30, 1946 in Wellsville, he was a son of Vincent and Grace Schrader Edwards.
David was a U.S. Navy war veteran having served during the Bay of Pigs Invasion.
He was a flooring specialist having designed and installed floors for numerous affluent clientele in mostly the Maryland area.
In 2008, David retired and moved to Whitesville to be closer to family, where he also pursued his hobby of woodworking. Dave was prized by many for his words of wisdom, helping hand, and life philosophies. He was lovingly known to many as âUncle Daveâ and âGrandpa Daveâ. His greatest love was his family.
Surviving are three daughters, Kelly (Gary) Lanier of Essex, Maryland, Amber (Kenny) White of Crofton, Maryland, and Casey (Peter) Harrison of Rexville, NY; five grandchildren; a granddaughter to be born in February; a brother, Bill (Cathy) Edwards of Whitesville; a sister, Barbara (Bill) McCray of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dave was predeceased by a nephew, Charlie Edwards, whom he dearly loved.
Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Davidâs life beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Whitesville Fire Hall, Main Street, Whitesville.

Davidâs family has entrusted his care to the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
