David L. Smitson “beloved father, grandfather, and son”

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa.---David L. “Dave” Smitson, 74, of Shinglehouse, formerly of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away in his home on Friday, June 4, 2021, after a long illness.
Born on Thursday, January 23, 1947 in Kenton County, Kentucky, he was a son of Bennie L. and Pauline McCarty Smitson. He was married to Donna M. Seeley, who preceded him in death.
Dave was a longtime truck driver until his retirement. He enjoyed listening to music.
Surviving are his mother, Pauline Bradley of Lancaster; two daughters, Bridget A. Smitson-Pilon of Westons Mills, N.Y. and Paula A. Werts of Coudersport; four grandchildren, Mackenzie Pilon, Dalton Pilon, Aiden Werts, and Kayla Werts; two brothers, Jeff and Barry; and several nieces and nephews.
Dave was predeceased by his father.
In keeping with Dave’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shinglehouse Volunteer Ambulance Association, PO Box 98, Shinglehouse, PA 16748.
Dave’s family has entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
