Diane M. Ayers âbeloved wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and sisterâ
AUSTIN, PA---Diane M. Ayers, 65, a lifelong resident of Austin, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Born on October 2, 1950 in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Ronald L. âBuckyâ Meacham and Mary L. Riale Meacham Haskins. On February 14, 1970 in the Austin United Methodist Church, she married Donald E. âDonâ Ayers, who survives.
Diane was a graduate of Austin High School, Class of 1968. She was employed by the former Sylvania Corporation in Emporium and later worked at Emporium Specialties in Austin until retiring due to ill health.
Diane was a member of the former Mecca Chapter #217 O.E.S. in Austin. She had formerly served as a Judge of Election in Austin. She enjoyed crocheting. She loved her dogs, but her greatest love was her family.
Surviving besides her husband and her mother, Mary L. Haskins of Austin, are a daughter, Denise M. (Philip âFlipâ) Perkins of Shinglehouse; a son, Donald A. (Lacy) Ayers of Austin; three grandchildren, Ashley Grace Perkins, Tyler Philip Perkins, and Hayden Donald Ayers; two sisters, Connie E. (Larry) Brundage of Port Allegany and Vicki L. Brewer of Austin; and several nieces and nephews.
Diane was predeceased by her father.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Austin United Methodist Church, Turner Street, Austin, with the Rev. Steven D. Small, pastor of the Southern Potter United Methodist Charge, officiating.
