COUDERSPORT, PA---Donald J. “Donnie” Crosby, 74, of Coudersport, formerly of Austin, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Sunday, November 24, 2024.


Born on Thursday, July 13, 1950 in Buffalo, NY, he was a son of Maynard J. and Millard “Millie” Abbott Crosby.


Donnie was a graduate of Austin Area High School. During his school years, he was an outstanding athlete, excelling at football, track and basketball.

 He was employed as an engineer in the powdered metal industry having been employed at Pure Carbon in Coudersport and retiring from St. Marys Carbon.


Donnie was an avid outdoorsman and crafted carpenter. He was a member of many rod and gun clubs and sportsman’s clubs. In his younger years, he was an avid bowler.


Left to cherish his memory are three sons, Shawn Aldrich of Cortland, NY, Zack (Amanda) Crosby of Farmville, VA, and Dylan J. Crosby of Middleburg, Florida; five grandchildren, Mark, Tyra, Zidayne, Zaya, and Chase; a sister, Susan Crosby of the Avon, NY; and several nieces and nephews.


In addition to his parents, Donnie was predeceased by a son, Abram Crosby; and two brothers, Maynard Crosby and David Crosby.


A celebration of life for Donnie will be held in the future.


Donnie’s family entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
