Donald L. Moon “Moonbeam”
COUDERSPORT, Pa.--Donald L. “Don” Moon, 71, of Coudersport, formerly of Cogan Station, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, in the Bradford Manor, Bradford, after a long battle with kidney disease.
Born on Wednesday, August 30, 1950 in Williamsport, he was a son of William N. Sr. and Shirley M. Carson Moon.
Don attended Williamsport High School. He was a long haul truck driver working for numerous companies throughout his trucking career, until retiring in 1994 after a severe accident.
Don was a member of Steep Side Hunting Club in Trout Run. He loved hunting, fishing, wood crafts, jewelry making, and talking on the phone with his family. His greatest love was his family.
Surviving are two children, Jessica L. (Titus) Chapman of Hickory, NC and Jason G. (Erin) Moon of Montoursville; eight grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; a great-granddaughter to be born in October; two sisters, Norma Smith of Trout Run and Shelly (Floyd) Bilbay of Cogan Station; two brothers, Barry Moon of Montoursville and William (Linda) Moon, Jr. of Howard; his ex-wife and friend, Vicky Moon of Coudersport; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
In addition to his parents, Don was predeceased by a son, Joshua L. Moon.
In keeping with Don’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Don’s name may be made to the Bradford Manor Patient Activity Fund, 50 Langmaid Lane, Bradford, PA 16701.
Don’s family has entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
