Donald R. “Donnie” Wilson     “beloved son, father, grandfather & brother”

SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Donald R. “Donnie” Wilson, 55, of Shinglehouse, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Buffalo General Hospital, Buffalo, NY.
     Born on April 30, 1960 on Hamilton Air Force Base, San Francisco, California, he was a son of Roger A. and Rosanne M. Dingman Wilson.
     Donnie was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School, Class of 1978, in Shinglehouse.  He was a welder, journeyman, and a pipefitter.  At the time of his death Donnie was employed by RAM Forest Products in Shinglehouse.
     He was a social member of Shinglehouse American Legion Post 530.  Donnie was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.  He was lovingly referred to as a “mountain man” by his family.  He was always willing to help anyone he could. His greatest love was his family and his three dogs.
     Surviving are his father of Fayetteville, NC; six children, Shawnta M. (Andrew) Kirtz of Hinsdale, NY, Jeremiah R. Wilson of Oswayo, Nichole M. (Carlos Valentin, Jr.) Wilson of Westons Mills, NY, and RoseAnn Wilson, Jason A. Wilson, and Hunter J. Wilson, all of Shinglehouse; three grandchildren, Brianna R. Kirtz, Larissa M. Kirtz, and Lannden M. Wilson; a brother, Rickey A. (Laura) Wilson of Marshallville, Ohio; a sister, Diana L. (Sam) Roberts of Sayre; two nieces; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
     Donnie was predeceased by his mother.
     Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, where funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Russell J. Horning, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Shinglehouse, officiating.
     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shinglehouse American Legion Post 530, PO Box 25, Shinglehouse, PA 16748; to the SPCA in Cattaraugus County, PO Box 375, Olean, NY 14760; or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
