Doris M. Orr
COUDERSPORT, PA----Doris M. Orr, 80, of Coudersport, formerly of Lancaster, passed away with her loving family at her side on Monday, July 1, 2013 in Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, after a short illness.
Born August 16, 1932 in Lancaster, she was a daughter of William G. and Gladys G. Waltman McKinney. On May 23, 1970 in Mountville, she married Henry G. âHankâ Orr, who passed away March 14, 2009.
Doris earned her GED in her 60âs after retiring.
She had formerly been employed by Schick in Lancaster. Moving from Elizabethtown in 1977, Doris and her husband, purchased the former Saw and Wedge Tavern in Sweden Valley, which they operated for 17 years until retiring in 1994.
Doris was a social member of American Legion Post 192 in Coudersport and a member of the Sweden Feedinâ Club in Sweden Valley. She loved her animals, reading, and doing word searches. She loved spending time with her friends.
Surviving are two daughters, Wanda Lee (Erhard Reese) Long of Ulysses and Denise M. (Phil) Moore of Mount Joy; two sons, Thomas A. (Sandy) Reed of Elizabethtown and Glenn W. (Cindy) Orr of Marietta; ten grandchildren, Melissa (Kenneth) Gamet, James Lee (Deb) Long, Jr., Glenn W. (Heather) Orr II, Michelle (James) Stoudt, Kandice (Todd) Pawuk, Lecia M. (Jonathan Perkins) Orr, Van (Missy) Moore, Kwinn (Kirsten) Reed, Arran Orr, and Keegan (Jennifer) Reed; nineteen great-grandchildren, Darius, Daysha, Kirstyn, Natalie, Sebastian, Lance, Hannah, Morgan, Ayla, Gavin, Onica, Kalissa, Renan, Zaine, Kayden, David, Paige, Lilah, Taysen, and one on the way; three brothers, Harold (Dawn) McKinney, Butch (Shannon) McKinney, and Chip (Bonnie) McKinney; two sisters, Toots (Sonny) Wentz and Mary Hoverter; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was predeceased by a son, Guy Robert Orr; four brothers, Johnny McKinney, Bobby McKinney, Earl McKinney, and Kenny McKinney.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at American Legion Post #192, Coudersport.
A memorial service will also be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Marietta Pioneer Fire Company.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donorâs choice.
