Edna R. Pease âloving mother, grandmother, and sisterâ
ROCHESTER, NY---Edna R. Pease, 84, of Rochester, formerly of Shinglehouse, PA and Ceres, PA, passed away with her loving family by her side on Sunday, February 15, 2015 in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, after a short illness.
Born May 29, 1930 in Portville, she was a daughter of Frank C. and Celia M. Enders Ferris. On August 28, 1970 in Coudersport, PA she married Donald H. Pease, who passed away on April 18, 2001. Edna previously had been married to Arthur E. Johnson.
Edna attended school in Portville, Cuba, and Bolivar, NY. She had been employed in various jobs, including the former Acme Electric in Allegany, NY from where she retired in 1975.
Edna was a member of the Family Worship Center in Rochester. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Shinglehouse. She enjoyed gardening, reading her Bible, traveling and spending time with her many grandchildren.
Surviving are five sons, Dennis R. (Yvonne) Johnson and Douglas H. (Kevin) Henchen-Pease, both of Rochester, Donnie L. (Teresa) Pease of Cookeville, Tennessee, David M. (Terri) Pease of Tracy, California, and Daniel R. (Wanda) Pease of Wellsville; five daughters, Susan I. (James) Cicirello of Wellsville, Sally A. (John) Strait of Greencastle, PA, Sandra L. (Steven) Lucas of Youngsville, PA, Donna N. Cravens of Cookeville, Tennessee, and Darla R. (Lee) Kello of Sparta, Tennessee; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard L. (Sandra) Ferris of Salem, Virginia; two sisters, Ethel M. Conte of Albion and Carol E. âKayeâ Warner of Belmont; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, husband, and former husband, Edna was predeceased by a daughter, Linda R. Johnson; three sisters, Sheila A. Fox, Annabell J. Ferris, and her twin, Edith M. Smith; three brothers, Franklin W. Ferris, Lewis R. Ferris, and Raymond C. Ferris.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, PA, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Marlon Clemson, pastor of the Family Worship Center, Rochester, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse, PA.
