Faye A. Kio âbeloved wife, mother and grandmotherâ
AUSTIN, PA---Faye A. Kio, 67, a lifelong resident of Austin, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 in her home.
Born November 1, 1945 in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Francis C. âPeckâ and Sarah E. Lentz Marshall. On February 15, 1964 in Austin, she married Douglas G. Kio, who survives.
Faye attended the former Austin Joint School in Austin. She was employed at Emporium Specialties for more than 20 years and later worked for the former Schumacherâs Inn in Costello until her retirement.
Faye was a member of the Austin United Methodist Church. She loved to play bingo, loved to bake, and loved the Pittsburgh Pirates. She enjoyed country music, dancing the polka, and singing karaoke. Her greatest love was her family.
Surviving besides her husband of 49 years are three sons, Douglas G. (Cindy) Kio, Jr., Dennis J. (Trish) Kio, and Robert F. âBobâ Kio, all of Austin; a daughter, Vera E. (Darren) VanWhy of Austin; a daughter-in-law, Terry E. Kio of Austin; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Francis R. âSonnyâ (Donna) Marshall of Duke Center; a sister, Gloria D. âTootsâ Stuckey of Austin; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Faye was predeceased by a brother, Walter âGaleâ Marshall.
Friends may call on Friday, August 9, 2013 at the Austin United Methodist Church from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at which time funeral services will be held with the Rev. Steven Small, pastor, officiating. Burial will be private.
