Gayla Jo Baker “longtime resident of Coudersport and Sweden Valley”
COUDERSPORT, Pa.---Gayla Jo Baker, 64, of Coudersport, passed away Saturday November 11, 2023.
She was born in Coudersport on Thursday, April 23, 1959, a daughter of John R. and Carlene E. (Brown) Baker.
Gayla was a graduate of Coudersport High School and was also a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Bradford with a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing. Gayla had a lifelong career in nursing and healthcare and enjoyed helping others.
Gayla is survived by her son, Cody J. (Mara Fontaine) Yentzer of Bradford; two younger brothers, Allan L. (Helene) Baker of Coudersport and Daniel R. (Robin) Baker of Ulysses; her canine companion, Dobby, who was her whole world; and several nieces and nephews.
Gayla was predeceased by her parents.
Gayla’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Gayla’s good friends, Mona Paro and Deniece Abbey, whom she cared for very much.
According to Gayla’s wishes, there will be no formal service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Gayla’s name may be made to Teacher’s Pet Rescue, 19 Blackberry Lane, Coudersport, PA 16915.
Gayla’s family has entrusted her care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
