George W. âBillâ Anderson âbeloved husband and fatherâ
GALETON, PA---George W. âBillâ Anderson, 84, of Galeton, passed away with his loving family by his side on Friday, March 11, 2016 in Cole Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit, Coudersport, after a long illness.
Born on March 30, 1931 in Bradford, he was a son of George and Verl Bickel Anderson. On February 26, 1990 in Oil City, he married Elaine âToyâ Ling, who survives.
George attended school in Shippenville. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Alaska during the Korean War.
George, along with his wife Toy, were the owners and operators of the former Andersonâs Chinese Restaurant in Galeton.
George was an avid dart player, belonging to an area dart league. He loved to fish, hunt, and cook. In his earlier years, he was a fast pitch softball player and a bowler.
Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Cheryl L. (Mike) Wilbourn of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, Jackie L. (Richard) Hawk and Sandra J. (Eric) Anderson, both of Bridgeton, NJ; and a son, George W. Anderson, Jr. of Cornwall on Hudson, NY.
In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by a daughter, Terri Jean Walton.
In keeping with Georgeâs wishes, there will be no public visitation. A celebration of his life will be held on a date and place to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Georgeâs name may be made to the Coudersport Volunteer Ambulance Association, 122 East Second Street, Coudersport, PA 16915.
Georgeâs family has entrusted his care to the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
