Jacquelyn Jo âJackyâ Gordnier
COUDERSPORT, PA---Jacquelyn Jo âJackyâ Gordnier, 61, of Coudersport, PA, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 23, 2014 with her loving family at her side in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA.
Born October 11, 1952 in Olean, NY, she was a daughter of Floyd W. and Beulah A. Stanger Bliss.
Jacky was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School, Shinglehouse, Class of 1970, where she was salutatorian. She graduated from Williamsport Area Community College with an Associateâs Degree in Library Science where she attained a 4.0 GPA. She also earned a B.S.A. in English from Mansfield University where she was on the Deanâs list each semester.
She worked for Spears Auction Service in Andover, NY and cleaned the Ellisburg Union Wesleyan Church. She had previously been employed at the former Potter Enterprise in Coudersport and the former Jim & Hildaâs Restaurant in Coudersport.
Jacky enjoyed gardening, reading, creative writing, and antiquing. She adored her children and grandchildren and took loving care of her extended family. She always had time for everyone.
Surviving besides her mother of Ellisburg, are three children, Amy J. Fry of Coudersport, Tara L. Fry of North East, Maryland, and Katie M. Gordnier of Coudersport; three grandchildren, Andrew, Alayna, and Nicholas Fry; three sisters, Judy B. Spaeth of Tarpon Springs, FL, Deb A. Plummer of Gaffney, SC, and Becky L. (Robert) Nolan of Coudersport; many nieces and nephews who thought of her as a second mom; also several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Jacky was preceded in death by her father.
Friends may call on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ellisburg Union Wesleyan Church, Ellisburg. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Paul M. Karges, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wells Cemetery, Oswayo.
