Jacquelyn “Jackie†Mc Afoose “beloved wife, mother and grandmotherâ€
COSTELLO, PA----Jacquelyn “Jackie†Mc Afoose, 74, a longtime resident of Costello, passed away with her loving family by her side on Saturday, August 8, 2015 in Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, after a long illness.
Born on April 17, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio, she was a daughter of W. Harold and Rita Singer Diday. On July 20, 1985 in Niagara Falls, NY, she married Norman D. “Norm†Mc Afoose, who survives.
Jackie, along with her mother Rita, owned and operated Hemlock Campgrounds in Wharton for many years.
In her younger years, Jackie enjoyed snowmobiling, having been a member of the Southern Potter Snowmobile Club where she served as treasurer. She also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and above all camping. Jackie loved sewing and quilting, but her greatest love was her family.
Surviving besides her loving husband of 30 years, are three daughters, Michelle C. (Jesse) Valenti of Austin, Melanee A. Blanton of Dallas, Texas, and Wendy L. Mc Afoose of Atlanta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Katelyn R. Valenti, Michael J. Valenti, Mason A. Valenti, and Kendra M. Valenti, all of Austin, PA; and a cousin, Margaret Ann Knife of Columbus, Ohio, whom Jackie thought of and loved as a sister.
In addition to her parents, Jackie was predeceased by a son, Michael W. Blanton.
In keeping with Jackie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services.

Jackie’s family has entrusted her care to the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
