James L. Baldwin âbeloved husband, father, grandfather and brotherâ
BOLIVAR, NY---James L. âJimâ Baldwin, 77, a lifelong resident of Bolivar, went to be with the Lord Saturday, January 3, 2015, in his home surrounded by his loving family following a long illness.
Born March 15, 1937 in Olean, he was a son of Lloyd M. and Grace I. Walters Baldwin. On March 2, 1957 in Bolivar, he married Fay Bates who survives.
Jim attended school in Bolivar. For many years he was employed as a welder at Dresser-Rand in Olean, retiring after more than 30 years of service.
Jim attended Grace Bible Independent Baptist Church in Shinglehouse. He loved his horses and dogs. His greatest love was his family.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Cindy L. (Terry) Evingham of Bolivar; three sons, Robert L. (Jan) Baldwin of Bolivar, Richard J. (Darcie) Baldwin of Little Genesee, and Ricky J. Baldwin of Belgrade, Montana; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Daniel L. (Julie) Baldwin of Little Genesee; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Baldwin; a son, Thomas A. Baldwin; and a brother, Kenneth Baldwin.
Friends may call at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 10 to 11 a.m. at which time funeral services will follow in the funeral home. The Rev. David Herne, pastor of Heritage AFlame Ministries, Bolivar, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Bolivar.
