James D. Potter âbeloved husband, father and grandfatherâ
COUDERSPORT, PA---James D. Potter, 74, a longtime resident of Coudersport and formerly of Harrison Valley, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016, in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, after a short illness.
Born on October 7, 1941, in Wellsville, NY, he was a son of James D. and Catherine Lewis Potter. On May 3, 1969, he married Felecia A. Tasillo, who survives.
Jim was a graduate of Wellsville (N.Y.) High School. He was employed by the former Pure Carbon Company in Coudersport, now Morgan AM & T, retiring at age 72.
He enjoyed tinkering in his garage, doing carpentry and working on his vehicles.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Paul âPJâ (Kathy Wiltrout) Potter of Coudersport; a daughter, Marlaina (Terry) Smith of Lakeland, Florida; a former daughter-in-law, Carrie A. Potter of Coudersport; three grandchildren, Patrick J. Potter, Hunter R. Potter, and Lauryn E. Potter, all of Coudersport; nine brothers and sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was predeceased by his parents and two brothers.
There will be no public visitation. A graveside service will be held in the Ulysses Cemetery, Ulysses, on a date and time to be announced.
Jimâs family has entrusted his care to the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
