Janice M. Powers      "beloved mother and grandmother"

Coudersport, Pa.----Janice M. Powers, 73, a longtime resident of Coudersport, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017 in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, after a long illness

Born October 13, 1943 in Greensburg, she was a daughter of Jack W. L. and Margaret R. Holderbaum Fundis.  On January 30, 1965 in Coudersport, she married William B. "Bill" Powers, who passed away on February 11, 2013.

Janice was a graduate of Norwin High School, Class of 1962, in Irwin.

Janice was a member of Park United Methodist Church in Coudersport.  She enjoyed reading , word searches, and baking. She was a prolific letter writer. She will be lovingly remembered for her cards, notes, and letters to family and friends.  Her greatest love was her family.

Surviving are two sons, William J. (Caroline) Powers and James J. (Tami) Powers, both of Coudersport; a daughter, Carrie L. Meacham of Johnsonburg; two grandsons, Carson James Powers and Reed William Powers; a brother, William L. (Angel) Fundis of Texas; four sisters, Lois A. Fundis of Weirton, WV, Virginia E. (Donald) Sauer of Pittsburgh, Naida L. (Tom) Handyside of Houston, Pa., and Mary E. (Terry) Schroeder of Overland Park, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no public visitation or funeral services.  Burial will be in Inez Cemetery, Inez.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Coudersport American Legion Post #192, 2 Buffalo Street, Coudersport, PA 16915.

Janice's family has entrusted her care to the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home,Shinglehouse.
