Jo Ann W. Langley        “beloved mother and grandmother”

COUDERSPORT, Pa.---Jo Ann W. Langley, 84, a lifetime resident of Coudersport, passed away with her loving family by her side, on Saturday, September 30, 2017.

Born on December 6, 1932 in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Francis and Geraldine Dodd Way. 

Jo Ann was a graduate of Coudersport High School.  In her early years, she was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company in Coudersport and later was employed at the Potter County Prothonotary’s Office. Lastly, Jo Ann was employed as a personal secretary for John Rigas.

Jo Ann was a member of Coudersport Free Methodist Church.  She enjoyed watching birds and was an avid reader.  Her greatest love was her family.

Surviving are two daughters, Patti A. (Ben) Slocum of Lancaster and Rhonda L. (Gary) Morley of Coudersport; a son, Scott W. Langley of Coudersport; six grandchildren, Tricia Thurber, Cassie (Bill) Coder, Scott (Ashley) Slocum, Luke (Carrie) Morley, Chad (Beth) Morley, and Nicole Morley; sixteen great-grandchildren, Silas, Gideon, Anneliese, Ezra, Emmaline, Amana, Joel, Christopher, McKenzie, Joshua, Brody, Loretta, Stella, Alexander, Zoey, and Linus; and a sister, Jackie Dehn of Rustin, Florida.

In addition to her parents, Jo Ann was predeceased by two brothers, Eugene Way and William Way.

Family and friends may call from 3 to 4 pm on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the Coudersport Free Methodist Church, 507 South Main Street, Coudersport, where a memorial service will follow at 4pm with the Rev. Pete Tremblay, pastor, and Jo Ann’s grandson, Luke E. Morley, officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jo Ann’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

Jo Ann’s family has entrusted her care to the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
