Joan Calhoun Richardson âbeloved mother & grandmotherâ
SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Joan Calhoun Richardson, 72, of Shinglehouse, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 in Bradford Ecumenical Home, Bradford, after a lengthy illness.
Born October 9, 1939 in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of Marvin O. and Lotus I. Foster Calhoun. On October 11, 1986 in Bastrop, TX, she married Rich M. Richardson who died on October 5, 1999.
Mrs. Richardson was a 1958 graduate of Oswayo Valley High School, Shinglehouse.
She was a life member of the former Shinglehouse Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a social member of the Shinglehouse American Legion Post 530. She was a snowmobile and motorcycle enthusiast. Mrs. Richardson enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing, having made several dance dresses. She loved to square dance and line dance. Her greatest love was her family.
Surviving are three daughters, Lori (Craig Bixby) Maxson of Indianapolis, Indiana, Londa Dingman Wilson of Olean, NY, and Lainie Dingman (David) Kephart of Eldred; six grandchildren, Rikki Rosseli, Kyle Sturdevant, Paul Wilson, Dustin Wilson, Shawn Wetherby, and Sharda Wetherby; a great-granddaughter, Aleena Rosseli; six step-grandchildren; two brothers, Lee M. (Sue) Calhoun of Sodus, NY and Thomas F. (Judy) Calhoun of Bolivar, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 2 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, PA. The Rev. Russell J. Horning, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Shinglehouse, will officiate.
