Joyce K. Cox âbeloved wife, mother and grandmotherâ
COUDERSPORT, PA---Joyce K. Cox, 65, of Coudersport, passed away with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 in Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, after a long illness.
Born April 15, 1949 in Omaha, Nebraska, she was a daughter of Robert L. and Betty J. Prince Betts. On December 21, 1968 in Council Bluffs, IA, she married James L. Cox, who survives.
Joyce attended school in Council Bluffs, IA. She was a peer advocate, having helped other patients with their rights, etc.
She enjoyed baking cakes and square dancing. She loved her plants and shopping, but her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving besides her husband are three children, Shane R. (Nelda) Cox of Brownwood, Texas, Cherie D. Cox of Coudersport, and Lance C. Cox of Odessa, Texas; several grandchildren; two sisters, Pam J. carney of Pensacola, Florida and Cathy A. (J.D.) Connally of Odessa, Texas; two brothers, Raymond L. Tillman and Terry L. Tillman, both of Odessa, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by an infant brother.
There will be no public visitation or funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Skilled Nursing and Rehab Patient Activity Fund, 1001 East Second Street, Coudersport, PA 16915.
