Joyce B. Terrette Dennis “beloved mother and grandmother”
SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa.---Joyce B. Terrette Dennis, 83, of Shinglehouse, passed away with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, after a long illness.
Born on Friday, May 14, 1937 in Olean, N.Y., she was a daughter of Leslie and Eva Van Curen Lowe. On September 3, 1955 in Shinglehouse, she married Henry M. “Bud” Terrette, who passed away on September 17, 1994. On August 19, 2010, she married Donald R. Dennis, who passed away on January 14, 2015.
Joyce enjoyed camping, bowling, and traveling. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She loved her flower gardens, but most of all cherished her time spent with her family making many memories. She loved and adored her many pets over the years. Her little Sadie lives with her daughter, Darcie.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Darlene M. (Jeff) Howard of Shinglehouse and Darcie L. Baldwin of Little Genesee, N.Y.; two sons, Daniel M. Terrette of Shinglehouse and Dale L. Terrette of Coneville; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a great-granddaughter to be born in May; a brother, Ernie Lowe of Portville, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Joyce was predeceased by a daughter, Darla J. Foradora; four brothers; and a sister.
Due to COVID restrictions a private family visitation and funeral service will be held in the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, with the Rev. Russell J. Horning, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Shinglehouse, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oswayo Valley Memorial Library, PO Box 188, Shinglehouse, PA 16748 or to Teacher’s Pet Rescue, 19 Blackberry Lane, Coudersport, PA 16915.
Joyce’s family entrusted her care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
