Karen K. Nichols Hudson “Beloved sister and aunt”

COUDERSPORT, Pa.---Karen K. Nichols Hudson, 62, a native of Coudersport, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022, in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, after a long illness.

Born on Sunday, April 24, 1960 in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Ervin A. “JR” and Luella “Dolly” Boyer Nichols, Jr.. In April of 1999, she married Clayton P. Hudson, who survives.

Karen was a graduate of Coudersport High School. She was employed as a group home manager for many years in both Binghamton, NY and Concord, North Carolina. She had also served as a notary. Karen had also owned and operated a restaurant and a game room. She also helped many children through her role as a foster parent.

Karen loved to travel, watch soap operas, and her dogs. She had the world’s best smile and enjoyed making people happy. Her greatest love was her family, especially her nieces, nephew, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, and great-grandnephews.

Surviving is her husband of Montgomery, WV; a sister, Melinda (Dan Donaldson) Nichols of Salisbury, NC; five beloved nieces, including Misty Nichols and Emily Bennett; a nephew; and many grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, and great-grandnephews.

In addition to her parents, Karen was predeceased by three brothers, Keith Nichols, Tim Nichols, and Ronald Nichols; and a special niece, Becky Hadlock Fairfield.

There will be no public visitation or funeral services. Karen will be laid to rest with her parents in the Hill Cemetery, Roulette.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Teacher’s Pet Rescue, 19 Blackberry Lane, Coudersport, PA 16915.

Karen’s family has entrusted her care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
