March 3, 1946 — January 12, 2022

Keith E. Strait “beloved husband”

LITTLE GENESEE, N.Y.---Keith E. Strait, 75, of Little Genesee, joined his loved ones and the Lord on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, after passing away in Mercy Hospital, Buffalo.
Born on March 3, 1946 in Olean, he was the son of the Rev. William Edward Strait and Ida Elizabeth Strait; brother of Garry E. Strait of Eldred, Pa. and Judy Fredrick-Packer of Pullman, Washington.
Keith had several jobs throughout his life, but his favorite was driving truck for 21 years at Anchor Motor Freight and Leaseway, hauling new cars. He was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was quite the handyman from mechanics, to welding, to electrical, to plumbing, and to carpentry. It didn’t matter what needed to be fixed, he could always figure out how to fix it.
Keith had heart disease from the age of 47 to the present, ending up with having a total of over 40 heart attacks. The doctors were amazed at how he kept bouncing back from each one. In 2013 he had 10 mini strokes and a major stroke, leaving his left side weak.
In 1966 he married Nancy Evans Strait of North Jackson, Ohio. They had three children, Joseph T. Strait of North Jackson, James E. (Bekah) Strait of Mongadore, Ohio, and Joivanna M. (Jim) Tetlow of Kent, Ohio. He had three grandchildren. He also had four stepchildren, Amber M. Atkins, William R. Atkins, Irene E. (Antonio) Johnson, and Edward J. Hall; six step-grandchildren; a step-great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
On April 1, 2017, he married Roberta M. Winship Strait, who survives.
In addition to his parents, Keith was predeceased by his longtime companion, Georgia M. Winship.
A graveside burial service will be held on a date and time to be announced in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse, Pa., with Pastor Roy Elliott, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to a chapter of the American Heart Association or a chapter of the American Red Cross.
Keith entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, Pa.
