Kenneth E. Gamet, Jr. “beloved father, grandfather, companion, and brother”

TURTLEPOINT, Pa.---Kenneth E. “Ken” Gamet, Jr., 69, a longtime resident of Turtlepoint and Port Allegany, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021, in UPMC Cole, Coudersport, after a long illness.
Born on Tuesday, July 8, 1952 in Blossburg, he was a son of Kenneth E. Gamet, Sr. and Geraldine O. Short Gamet Carr Stuckey.
Ken was a longtime employee of the former Pittsburgh Corning Corporation in Port Allegany, having worked there from August of 1979 until retiring after many years of service.
He loved to hunt and fish. His greatest love was his family and his pets.
Left to cherish his memory are his companion, Joyce Helzell of Turtlepoint; two sons, Kenneth E. (Melissa) Gamet III of Coudersport and Kevin M. (Christina) Gamet of Port Allegany; eight grandchildren, Darius Eckerd, Daysha Eckerd, Sebastian Gamet, Ayla Gamet, Aaron Gamet, Onica Gamet, Jersey Gamet, and Taysen Gamet; two brothers, Russell J. (Heidi) Gamet of Port Allegany and Donald L. (Luann) Gamet of Roseburg, Oregon; two sisters, Linda D. (Harrison) Fuller and Ada D. (Ted) Anthony, both of Port Allegany; three stepbrothers, William (Nancy) Stuckey of Elkland, Robert (Veronica) Stuckey of Bradford, and George (Tonya) Stuckey of Port Allegany; a stepsister, Julie McGee of Wellsboro; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
In addition to his parents, Ken was predeceased by three brothers, Robert Gamet, Charlie Gamet, and George Carr; and two stepsisters, Roxanne Gamet and Lorna Moore.
Currently there are no services planned.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Teacher’s Pet Rescue, 19 Blackberry Lane, Coudersport, PA 16915 or to a chapter of the American Cancer Society of the donor’s choice.
Ken’s family has entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
