COUDERSPORT, PA---Lawrence G. âDocâ Page, 87, of Coudersport, formerly of Austin, passed away with his daughter at his side on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport after a brief illness.
Born March 17, 1926 in Port Allegany, he was a son of Lawrence G. and Viola Erhart Page. He married Shirley Perry who passed away in 1993.
He was a graduate of Austin High School. Mr. Page later received a doctorate degree in mechanics.
He was employed as a master mechanic at the former Sharpâs Garage in Austin.
He was a life member of the Austin Volunteer Fire Department where he also served with the fire police for several years. Until the time of Docâs illness, he was still repairing small engines and enjoyed woodworking and tinkering.
Surviving are a daughter, Anita P. (Edwin) Vossler of Austin; a son, David P. Page of Roulette; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Page and Walter Page, both of Coudersport; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Doc was predeceased by a stepson, Rodger Perry; and a step-grandson, Matt Vossler.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Austin United Methodist Church, Austin, with the Rev. Steven D. Small, pastor of the Southern Potter United Methodist Charge, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Austin.
