Leverna “Yvonne” Milliken “beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother”

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa.---Leverna “Yvonne” Milliken, 92, a lifelong resident of Shinglehouse, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.
Born on Saturday, December 15, 1928 in Shinglehouse, she was a daughter of Leverne and Eva M. Foote Howard. On July 1, 1951, at her family home in Shinglehouse, she married Richard L. “Rich” Milliken, who passed away on March 7, 2007.
Yvonne was a graduate of Shinglehouse High School. She was employed at the former Acme Electric in Cuba, N.Y. and later was employed in the cafeteria at the Oswayo Valley Elementary School in Shinglehouse. She, along with her husband, owned and operated the former Milliken’s Auto Parts, in Shinglehouse, retiring in 1998.
Yvonne was a member of the First Baptist Church in Shinglehouse. She loved to play Bingo. She enjoyed keeping her lawn looking beautiful. Her greatest love was her family.
Surviving are a daughter, Yvette J. (Jerry) Ebeling of Shinglehouse; three sons, Richard L. “Rick” (Cathy) Milliken, Randy M. (Kim) Milliken, and Robert V. “Bob” (Marjorie) Milliken, all of Shinglehouse; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine “Ella” Howard of Shinglehouse; a sister-in-law, Cecelia “Pud” Howard of Shinglehouse; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Yvonne was predeceased by two sisters, Aola Maxson and Jacqueline “Jackie” Dietze; and four brothers, Virgil Howard, Henry “Hank” Howard, Vincent “Vince” Howard, and Leonard “Joe” Howard.
Private funeral services will be held at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, with Pastor Clint Pearsall, interim pastor of the First Baptist Church, Shinglehouse, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 68, Shinglehouse, PA 16748 or the Sweden Valley Manor Patient Activity Fund, 1028 East Second Street, Coudersport, PA 16915.
Yvonne’s family has entrusted her care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
