Lillian M. Ayers âloving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmotherâ
SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Lillian M. Ayers, 95, of Shinglehouse, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014 in Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville, NY, after a short illness.
Born May 3, 1919 in South Vandalia, NY, she was a daughter of William and Bess Babcock. On September 26, 1936 in Shinglehouse, she married Gilbert T. Morris, who passed away on March 30, 1987. On February 3, 1990 in Shinglehouse, she married Truman A. Ayers, who passed away on February 22, 1992.
Lillian attended school in Richburg, NY. She was a homemaker. She was a former member of the Shinglehouse American Legion Post 530 Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to read, crochet, and play cards. She enjoyed listening to country music.
Surviving are a daughter, Viola âViâ (Monte) Hathaway of Shinglehouse; a son, Emery W. (Ann) Morris of Alma, NY; twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and several step-children.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, Lillian was predeceased by several brothers and a sister.
Friends may call on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, PA from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at which time funeral services will follow with the Rev. Russell J. Horning, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Shinglehouse, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
