Linda M. McMonigal “beloved mother, grandmother, and sister”

PHILIPSBURG, Pa.---Linda M. McMonigal, 73, of Philipsburg, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021, in Snyder Memorial Health Care Center, Marienville, following a lengthy illness.
Born on Saturday, December 6, 1947 in Yonkers, N.Y., she was a daughter of William and Adeline Pinto Ferruzzi.
Linda was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Yonkers and a graduate of Clearfield County Vocational School where she earned a degree in nursing.
While living in Yonkers, Linda was employed as a bartender and later she was employed as a nurse at St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, N.J. Later she took a nursing position in Pleasant Gap at Health South, where she specialized in ventilator care.
Linda was Catholic by faith. She loved to cook and was an avid reader. Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, John P. Hayles of Madera and Christian O. McMonigal of Coudersport; four grandchildren, John Paul Hayles, Regina Taylor, Mariah Hayles, and Isabelle McMonigal; and a sister, Betty (William) Burrows of Louisiana.
In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by a son, Brian Hayles; a grandson, Noah C. McMonigal; and a sister, Donna Galante.
In keeping with Linda’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services. She will be laid to rest with her family in New York.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Coudersport Public Library, 502 Park Avenue, Coudersport, PA 16915 or to the Ronald McDonald House, 451 44th Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201.
Linda’s family has entrusted her care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
