Lucile M. Ellsworth âbeloved mother and grandmotherâ
SHINGLEHOUSE, PA---Lucile M. Ellsworth, 88, of Shinglehouse, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2015 in Sena Kean Manor, Smethport, after a long illness.
Born March 20, 1927 in Clermont, she was a daughter of Fred L. and Lenora Mae Freer Murray. On November 26, 1942 in Shinglehouse, she married Leslie E. âLesâ Ellsworth, who passed away on November 1, 2005.
Lucile attended Shinglehouse High School. For several years she was employed at the former Olean Tile Plant in Olean, NY and at A.V.X. Corporation in Olean, NY. She was later employed by the Oswayo Valley School District working in the cafeterias.
Mrs. Ellsworth was a member of Bell Run Union Church in Shinglehouse. She was a former member of the Monitor Roamerâs Trailer Club and a member of the former Oswayo Valley Lionâs Club in Shinglehouse. She enjoyed doing crafts and word searches. Her greatest love was her family.
Surviving are a son, Gary E. (Jeanne) Ellsworth of Mt. Jewett; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, James Ayers of Shinglehouse; two sisters, Ruth Green of Shinglehouse and Doris (Gordon) Hawkes of Florida; a brother, Howard M. (Alladeane) Murray of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lucile was predeceased by a son, DeWayne Ellsworth; a daughter, Patricia Ann Ayers; a granddaughter, Tanya Hemphill; two brothers, Ervine Murray and Fred Murray; and a sister, Cora Hawkes.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, Pa., where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Chad E. Shaffer, pastor of Bell Run Union Church, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
