Marcia E. Majot âbeloved mother, grandmother and sisterâ
SHINGLEHOUSE, PA----Marcia E. Majot, 70, of Shinglehouse, passed away with her loving family by her side at the home of her son and daughter-in-law on Thursday, November 26, 2015, after a long illness.
Born on October 26, 1945 in Coudersport, PA, she was a daughter of Donald F. and LeOtta Prince Phillips.
Marcia was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School in Shinglehouse. She attended beauty school in Buffalo, NY and also completed a course of study certifying her to be a dietary manager at the former St. Francis Hospital in Olean and the Olean General Hospital. In 2001, along with her son and daughter-in-law, she purchased Carlowâs Tavern which became the Roadside Restaurant and Bar in Shinglehouse.
She loved to cook and cater events. She loved animals, but her greatest love was her family.
Surviving are a son, Michael M. âMickeyâ (Sandy) Majot of Shinglehouse; two granddaughters, Torrey L. Majot and Kiersten R. Majot, both of Shinglehouse; a brother, Donald A. Phillips, Sr. of Shinglehouse; and two nephews.
Marcia was predeceased by her parents.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Becky L. Edwards, pastor of the Shinglehouse United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in East Sharon Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
