Margaret M. Harris âbeloved mother, grandmother & sisterâ
ROCHESTER, NY---Margaret M. Harris, 91, of Rochester, formerly of Shinglehouse, PA, passed away with her loving family by her side on Sunday, February 15, 2015 in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, after a short illness.
Born October 10, 1923 in Shinglehouse, PA, she was a daughter of Charles J. and Ethel H. Anders Osborn. On February 8, 1946 in Carnesville, Georgia, she married Clyde F. Harris, who passed away on March 17, 2012.
Margaret graduated from Shinglehouse High School, Class of 1941. She was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Rochester retiring after many years of service.
Margaret enjoyed solving crossword and Sudoku puzzles, crocheting and baking. She and her husband loved to travel and camp.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna S. Bianchi of Henrietta, NY and Gibsonton, Florida and Georgia L. (Vernon) Cooper of Clifton Springs; a son, Charles F. (Tina Ortega) Harris of Shinglehouse; seven grandchildren, Lisa (Steve Noble) Coleman, Michael (Sabrina Avery) Coleman, Melissa Bianchi, Meredith Lockman, Tyler Harris, Donovan Freece and Brett Ortega; five great-grandchildren, Josh Coleman, Alyssa Coleman, Selina Santiago, Alessandro Cruz and Carter Ortega; a sister, Marjory M. Stilson of Shinglehouse; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was predeceased by two brothers, Elbert A. âBertâ Osborn and Robert C. âBob O.â Osborn.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, PA, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. The Rev. Russell J. Horning, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Shinglehouse, will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Shinglehouse.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donorâs choice.
