Margaret Kelchner

WELLSBORO, Pa.---Margaret Kelchner, 91, of Wellsboro, formerly of Galeton, Shinglehouse, and Media, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2020, in UPMC Soldiers and Sailors Hospital, Wellsboro.

Born on Monday, August 13, 1928 in Reading, she was a daughter of William and Mabel Kelchner.

Margaret had been employed as a housekeeper for many years. She moved to Shinglehouse from the Reading area with her friends, Cliff and Ann McCleaft. She looked to Ann as a mother figure.

Margaret’s favorite pastime was coloring.

Surviving are several friends, including the McCleaft family of Shinglehouse and Ruth Guillo of Denver, Pa.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents. She had a sister and two brothers.

In keeping with Margaret’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services. Burial will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park in Frazer.

Margaret entrusted her care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Home, Shinglehouse.
