Milton T. Landes “beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle”
SHINGLEHOUSE, PA----Milton T. “Milt” Landes, 77, of Shinglehouse, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at the Green Home, Wellsboro, after a short illness.
Born on June 1, 1939 in Norristown, he was a son of Raymond T. and Anna M. Haley Landes. On July 2, 1960 in St. Eleanor’s Roman Catholic Church, Collegeville, he married Barbara J. “Barb” Kutz, who passed away on March 7, 2013.
Milt was a graduate of Collegeville-Trappe High School, Class of 1958. In 1976, he and his family moved to Shinglehouse, where they owned and operated the former Knotty Pine Tavern for many years. He then was employed by the Oswayo Valley School District in Shinglehouse, as the maintenance supervisor, retiring in 2002.
An avid golfer, Milt was a former member of the Bolivar Golf Club where he had the honor of having two holes in one on Hole 14. He loved hunting and fishing, but had a passion for archery hunting. He was a lifetime member of the Limerick Bowmen Archery Club in Limerick. He was a former member of the Oswayo Valley Rod and Gun Club in Millport where he enjoyed shooting trap. He loved watching sports of any kind. His favorite pastimes involved spending time with his family, going to breakfast with friends, and playing Rummikub.
Surviving are two daughters, Loretta J. (George) Donovan of Shinglehouse and Christine M. Landes of Brick, NJ; two sons, Milton T. (Jennifer) Landes, Jr. of Marlboro, NJ and Michael P. (Brenda) Landes of New Jordan, Utah; eight grandchildren, Sarah (Ben) Lewis, Emily (Paul) Rathbun, Lauren Donovan, Gregory Donovan, Stefanie Landes, Timothy Landes, Milton T. Landes III, and Madison Landes; a great-granddaughter, Bailey E. Lewis; and a brother, Robert (Diane) Landes of Grand Junction, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Milt was predeceased by a brother, Donald; and two sisters, Dorothy Bodge and Jean Battisto.
In keeping with Milt’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services.

Milt’s family has entrusted his care to the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
