Nancy J. Peterson âbeloved wife, mother, and grandmotherâ
STEAMBURG, NY---Nancy J. Peterson, 73, of Steamburg, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 in Heritage Village, Gerry, after a long illness.
Born May 31, 1939 in Olean, she was a daughter of Charles V. and Charlotte V. Williams Tyler. On August 15, 1957 in Allegany, she married Francis N. âPeteâ Peterson, who survives.
Mrs. Peterson attended school in California and Allegany.
She was a member of the Steamburg United Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting and listening to gospel music.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Jeffrey A. (Diane) Peterson of Streamwood, Illinois and Patrick M. Peterson of Lake Stevens, Washington; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charles R. Tyler of Olean, Larry D. (Rita) Tyler of California, and Gary L. (Pamela) Tyler of Brazil; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Peterson was predeceased by a daughter, Jennifer Monica Peterson.
Friends may call at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, PA on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at which time funeral services will follow with Chaplain Sam Shreffler of the Heritage Ministries, Gerry, will officiate. Burial will be in Myrtle Cemetery, Myrtle, PA.
