Neville A. Whyte
COUDERSPORT, PA---Neville Alexander Whyte, 75, of Coudersport, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013 in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport after an extended illness.
Born September 23, 1937 in Cairns, Australia, he was a son of Joseph and Arlene Whyte. In 1964 his married his first wife, Beverly and had two daughters. In 2010 he moved to the United States and on April 6, 2010, he married Rose Marie Predmore, who survives.
Mr. Whyte was employed as a mechanical engineer until his retirement. He lived most of his adult life in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia.
He formerly was a member of the Salvation Army Church until January 2009 when he was baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He was very active in the Bendigo Adventist Church and the Coudersport Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Mr. Whyte was a member of the Bent Brass Band in Portville, NY. His greatest passion was playing his trombone in several brass bands. He continued studying music and playing his trombone until his death. He also enjoyed cycling, gardening, cooking, computers, oil painting, traveling and bird watching.
Surviving besides his wife of Coudersport, are two daughters, Narelle Whyte and Sharon Whyte, both of Australia; three stepdaughters, Devonna Smith of Coudersport, Darlene (Larry) Leedham, of Coudersport, and Charlene (Bobby) Stewart of Punta Gorda, Florida; a brother, Kevin Whyte of Australia; a sister, Colleen of Australia; several step-grandchildren;, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at 3 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2013 in the Coudersport Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1004 South Main Street, Coudersport, PA with Pastor Lyn Gatz, officiating.
