Patricia J. Fuller âbeloved wife, mother and grandmotherâ
SHINGLEHOUSE, PA----Patricia J. âPatâ Fuller, 72, of Shinglehouse, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013 in the Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY, after a short illness.
Born on April 12, 1940 on the family farm in Shinglehouse, she was a daughter of Mark L. and Rebecca M. Dunshie Gustin. On September 5, 1959 in the Ceres United Methodist Church, she married Calvin H. Fuller, who survives.
She attended East Sharon Country School and was a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School in Shinglehouse, class of 1958.
Pat was employed by the former Viko Furniture Company in Eldred. She later was employed in the cafeteria at the Oswayo Valley Schools in Shinglehouse. She retired from the Shinglehouse Market Basket having worked in the bakery. Pat, along with her family, ran Fullerâs Funnel Cakes and Pizzas for many years at the Potter County Fair. She was also a demonstrator for Friendly Home Parties.
She was a member of the former Sharon Grange #1247 where she held many offices throughout the years. She was a member of the Potter County Pomona Grange #54, a member of the Pennsylvania State Grange and a member of the National Grange, holding all eight degrees of the grange. She was a life member and past president of the former Shinglehouse Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a life member of the Allegany County (NY) Volunteer Firemanâs Auxiliary, and a member of the Pennsylvania Tri-County Volunteer Firemanâs Ladies Auxiliary. Pat also served as an EMT for the Shinglehouse Volunteer Ambulance Association.
She loved knitting, gardening, puzzles, reading, her animals, and working in her woodshop. Her greatest love was her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband are five children, Sherry L. (Charles) Campbell of Akron, Ohio, Sue A. (Randy) Kemp of Wellsville, NY, Danny R. (Beth) Fuller and Sylvia J. Fuller, both of Shinglehouse, and Shirley K. (Greg) Fuller of Portville, NY; ten grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a brother, Dewey L. (Alice) Gustin of Shinglehouse; a sister-in-law, Rheta Gustin of Eldred; two brothers-in-law, Francis âBaineâ Shields of Portville, NY and Norm (Becky) Milne of Eldred; an aunt, Betty Dunshie of Shinglehouse; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Pat was predeceased by two sisters, Marge Marie Shields and Veronica (James) Cole; and a brother, Don Gustin.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, 118 South Union Street, Shinglehouse, PA where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 28, 2013 with the Rev. Randall W. Headley, pastor of the Port Allegany Area United Methodist Charge, officiating. Burial will be in East Sharon Cemetery.
