Ralph L. Johnson âbeloved Poppyâ
BOLIVAR, NY---Ralph L. Johnson, 73, of Bolivar, NY, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Monday, February 22, 2016.
Born on November 5, 1942 in Rochester, PA, he was a son of Leonard B. and Elizabeth R. Poore Johnson. On April 3, 2007 in Heritage AFlame Ministries, Bolivar, he married Joyce L. Stone, who survives.
Ralph was a graduate of Aliquippa High School in Aliquippa and a graduate of Geneva College in Geneva, PA with a Bachelorâs degree in business.
Ralph was employed as a supervisor for J & L Steel in Aliquippa. He was the former owner of the Evergreen Golf Course in Bolivar. He was employed as a real estate agent for Pepper and Crandall Real Estate in Olean, having retired three years ago.
He was a member of Sharon Lodge #598 F. & A.M. in Shinglehouse, PA and a member of the Coudersport (PA) Consistory. Ralph was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman, and bowler. In his younger years, Ralph was a pitcher for a minor league baseball team. His greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Lee S. Johnson of Shinglehouse; a daughter, Lynne S. (John) Hawk of Monaca; two grandsons, Ryan S. Johnson of Shinglehouse and Kevin S. Hawk of Monaca; a granddaughter, Kassi Hawk of Monaca; a great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Jane Hawk; two step-daughters, Tiffany N. Linn of Cuba and Amanda J. (Stewart) Fuller of Bolivar; five step-grandchildren, Sydney, Alexander, Harlen, Elizabeth, and Wells; and a niece.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Cozzacoli.
In keeping with Ralphâs wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services.
