Raymond E. âRayâ Card âloved by allâ
ROULETTE, PA---Raymond E. âRayâ Card, 74, a lifelong resident of Roulette, passed away with his loving family by his side on Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, after a short illness.
Born on November 12, 1940 in Roulette, he was a son of Michael and Doris Chase Card. On April 8, 1995 in Coudersport, he married Cheryl D. Hall, who survives.
Ray attended school in Roulette and graduated from Port Allegany High School, class of 1959. He was employed by North Penn Gas Company in Roulette, retiring after 44 years of service.
He was an active member of the Potter Game Club in Roulette for over 40 years and was a lifetime member of the Austin VFW Social Club. He was a member and past president of the A.A.H.A. Corral 84 at the former Saw N Wedge Tavern in Coudersport, a former social member of the VFW in Port Allegany and a former social member of the Coudersport American Legion.
Ray played in several bands in the area and was lead singer and guitarist in the Rythymaires Band for over 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, gardening, playing darts and shooting pool. He loved to spend time at his family camp.
Surviving besides his wife and mother of Roulette, are three daughters, Tami Card Lapp of Roulette, Mona Rae Card Teclaw of Easton, and Paula Card Whitney of Port Allegany; a son, Raymond W. Card of Austin; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Sterrett Pinchock of Port Allegany and Jacqueline Sterrett (Errick) Thomas of Turtlepoint; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
In addition to his father, Ray was predeceased by a brother, Phillip Card.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at the Port Allegany Veteranâs Memorial Home, Route 155, Port Allegany, with Rev. H. D. Youngblood of Roulette, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Roulette Volunteer Fire Department, River Street, Roulette, PA 16746; to the Potter Game Club, PO Box 115, Port Allegany, PA 16743; or to the American Cancer Society, c/o Team Hope, 95 Main Street, Bradford, PA 16701.
