Robert W. Phillips âbeloved father and grandfatherâ
COUDERSPORT, PA---Robert W. âBobâ âBungâ Phillips, 80, of Coudersport, passed away peacefully in his home to be with his beloved wife and the Lord on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, after a short illness with his loving family at his side.
Born September 18, 1932 in Alma, NY, he was a son of Homer and Lucy Woodruff Phillips. On September 1, 1952 in Coudersport, he married Patricia Ann Lyons, who passed away on April 28, 2006.
He attended Coudersport schools. Mr. Phillips was the owner of Allegany Auto and Truck Repair in Coudersport.
A longtime resident of Coudersport, he had previously resided in Austin.
Mr. Phillips was a member of the Coudersport Alliance Church. He was a former member of Eulalia Lodge # 342 F & AM in Coudersport. He was an avid hunter, camper and enjoyed traveling to Florida where he loved spending time with his âsunshine gang friendsâ at Daytona Beach. He loved to sing and play his guitar. He loved his beagles and his granddogs, Runtser, DumDum., Zoey, and Chief.
Surviving are four children, Kathy P. âMonaâ (Craig) Cobb of Coudersport, Rick D. (Bonnie) Phillips of Lakeland, Florida, Pam J. (Carl) Sprouse of Coudersport, and Lori A. (Jay) Buchanan of Shinglehouse; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; five step-great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Harold Phillips of Port Allegany, Richard (Geanie) Phillips of La Vergne, Tennessee, and Ted (Lana) Phillips of Wellsville, NY; a sister, Ginger Perry of Salamanca, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Phillips was predeceased by a son, Michael Phillips; a daughter, Debra Jean Phillips; a great-granddaughter, Adara Lynn Cobb; and several brothers and sisters.
Friends may call on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Coudersport Alliance Church, Alliance Avenue, Coudersport, where funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, October 15, 2012 with the Rev. Bernard Knefley, pastor and Pastor Sam Crossley, Care pastor co-officiating. Burial will be in Eulalia Cemetery, Coudersport.
