Ronald C. âRonâ Edgar
KEATING SUMMIT, PA---Ronald C. âRonâ Edgar, 60, of Keating Summit, formerly of Kersey, passed away in his home with his loving family by his side on Saturday, August 1, 2015, after a long illness.
Born April 4, 1955 in Bradford, he was a son of James L. âJimâ Ludwig and Beverly J. Rittburg. Born the son of Jim, he was adopted and raised by William Edgar and was also raised by his âother stepdadâ, Richard Meredith. On April 4, 1982 in Ridgway, he married Lynnette M. Umstead, who survives.
Ron was a graduate of St. Marys High School, class of 1973. After graduation from high school, Ron enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he attained the rank of Sergeant.
He held many jobs through the years in all parts of the country. Until retiring due to ill health, he had been employed as a heavy equipment operator for Alpha Natural Coal Company in Brockport.
Ron enjoyed hunting and riding his motorcycle. Most importantly was his love for his family and the Lord.
Surviving besides his wife are his father, Jim of Keating Summit; his mother, Beverly Fielding of Kersey; his stepdad, Richard of Florida; three sons, Dwayne P. (Mary) Edgar of Smethport, Gabriel M. âGabeâ (Dana) Edgar of Albion, Michigan, and Tony Edgar of North Dakota; a daughter, Jessica Edgar of North Dakota; three granddaughters; a grandchild to be born in January 2016; 12 brothers and sisters: Sue E. (Randy) Anderson and Ruth A. (Phil) Rooker, both of Kersey, William P. (Janelle) Edgar of Corry, Danette R. Meredith and Michelle L. (David) Alberry, both of Lakeland, Florida, Richard G. Meredith of Haines City, Florida, Christian R. (Thereasa) Edgar of Ridgway, James P. Ludwig of Keating Summit, Deborah S. (Paul) Gabor, Dale J. Ludwig, Tonyia L. (Daniel) Wennin and Laura A. (James) Narby, all of Emporium; and many nieces and nephews.
Ron was predeceased by his adopted father, William Edgar.
A private celebration of Ronâs life will be held by his family at their convenience.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, PA.
