Rosella B. âRosieâ Chapell âbeloved friend to allâ
COUDERSPORT, PA----Rosella B. âRosieâ Chapell, 90, of Coudersport, formerly of the Ulysses area, passed away Friday, June 14, 2013 in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, after a short illness.
Born November 30, 1922 in West Bingham, she was a daughter of William J. and Dorothy L. Snyder Bunnell. On October 28, 1960 in Coudersport, she married Arthur E. âBillâ Chapell, who died on April 7, 2011.
Rosie attended Newfield Country School and attended high school in Ulysses.
She was employed as a housekeeper for a few years in Ulysses and later moved to Coudersport where she was employed as a waitress at the former Maryâs Beer Garden (now Moschâs Tavern). She was later employed at the former Anchor Toy Company in Coudersport and then as a machine operator for the former H & L Tool Company in Coudersport. Rosie retired from the former Molded Plastics in Coudersport.
Rosie was a member of Park United Methodist Church in Coudersport since 1954. She was a very active 50 year plus member of the former Coudersport Volunteer Firemenâs Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the American Legion Post #192 Auxiliary and a member of the 8 and 40 of the American Legion. She was also a member of Eulalia Chapter #148 Order of the Eastern Star in Coudersport.
Rosie enjoyed helping her friends and volunteering tirelessly at the firehall and Legion. She loved her animals, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and dancing, both square and round.
Surviving are a daughter, Doris A. Robison of Coudersport; three grandchildren, Michael A. (Judy) Furman of Harrisburg, Dennis J. (Cheryl) Furman of Austin, and Wendy S. (Roben Reynolds) Cobado of Coudersport; seven great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry F. Bunnell of Coudersport; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Rosie was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the American Legion Post #192, Coudersport with the Rev. Scott R. Ogden, pastor of Park United Methodist Church, Coudersport, officiating.
Members of Eulalia Chapter #148 O.E.S. will conduct an Eastern Star service on Monday evening immediately following the memorial service.
